God continues to bless DFEA and I am so grateful.  We had a wonderful 2 days at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Durham, NC with Pastor Don Chasteen and his fine folks.  This is such a strong, healthy church led by a real man of God who is humble and passionate for the things of God.  I just love Bro Don and Scarlet Chasteen, faithful soldiers of Christ.

I am going to India in October and looking forward to serving Christ with my good friend Finny Matthews who preached for us here at Great Hills on Sunday and our people loved him and his sweet family.  God is using AIM to touch the nations of India and Nepal and I am so honored to be a part of this great ministry.  Pray for us please as we go to India.

God is moving in Austin TX, and I am excited about all He is doing.  We are gearing up for our outreach event called Illuminate Austin and it is going to be in east Austin August 21 and I get the honor of serving and also preaching outdoors; pray for us please.

Our TV ministry continues to go well both on the local KVUE ABC channel here locally and the DFEA on NRB on DIREC TV.  A 55 year old man called in and prayed to receive Christ as Lord and Savior on Sunday; thank You Jesus.

And today I had lunch with Dr,. Ralph Smith former pastor of the Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin.  What a delightful, brilliant man and I was very honored to spend some time with him today.

Blessings to you as you read this and let me know if I can pray for you.

Oh just deleted a whole section I had typed for the blog!!

In short, God is blessing and we are grateful.  God is blessing us at Great Hills Baptist Church.  We baptized a 32 year old man last Sunday who has a PhD from MIT in aeronautical engineering.

Leighton, our 16 year old, was accepted into the Austin Tennis Academy and will practice 3 hours a day for 5-6 days a week--intense!

I am preaching at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Durham, NC on Sunday and Monday August 8-9.

God continues to bless and use the TV broadcast on DIREC TV.

Jesus is coming again and I am excited!

This summer is flying by!  We are getting adjusted to beautiful Austin TX.  Ashley's sister and brother-in-law came to visit last weekend and we had a nice time showing them the city and the highlight for me was Barton Springs at Zilker Park.  One of Ashley's best friends in the world, Debbie Palmer, and her two girls are coming next week and I am sure they will have a great time.

I am so busy but love it.  God continues to bless us here at Great Hills Baptist Church.  I preached last night at our student's gathering called Elevate and two teens prayed to receive Christ as did a 29 year old man who showed up. Wow, so grateful to God for the power of His Word.

On Tuesday of this week Russell Hartsfield and Brad Roberts (godly, talented men) with the media ministry here at GHBC worked with me as we taped new endings to both the ABC local broadcast here in Austin on KVUE and the national broadcast through DIREC TV.  I continue to hear from people across our nation who tune in and watch us each week.  Thank you Lord for using this ministry of media to touch many with the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God.

Looking forward to preaching in Durham, NC at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on August 8-9, 2010.  If you are in the RDU area come out and worship the LORD with us.  I always enjoy being with Pastor Don Chasteen and his sweet wife Scarlet.

Have a blessed day and weekend, and let me know if I can pray for you.

Worship and God's Will
Written by Pastor Forshee

Take some time this weekend to read over Romans 12:1-2 slowly and ask God to speak to you and change you by His Holy Spirit as you read the inspired Word of God.  One of the great blessings of true worship is we know what God’s will is for our lives.  His will is not some nebulous, secretive prize with which God tantalizes us.  He wants us to know His will; however, He wants us to be more concerned with knowing Him!  And as we passionately worship Him with all that we are, we will clearly know His will.

A radiant Christian is one who worships God by presenting him or herself to the Lord as a living sacrifice, one who is holy and acceptable to the Lord.  Worship that pleases God is from our lips and our lives.  We do not compartmentalize our lives in the sacred and secular; all we are we present to the Lord.  We are not squeezed in the world’s mold but we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.  God’s Word daily changes us from the inside out and we know God’s will for our lives and we enjoy living life to the full.  And as a result, you will testify with your words and actions out of the overflow.  This is radiant living and it starts with us as believers presenting ourselves to the Lord as a living sacrifice to Him.

Francis Chan encourages the Christian to not be concerned with God's will for the future but be open to what He wants to do in your life today.  He writes, "It's much less demanding to think about God's will for your future than it is to ask Him what He wants you to do in the next ten minutes.  It's safer to following Him someday instead of this day." (Forgotten God, p. 120)

Someone said the problem with living sacrifices is that they keep crawling off the altar!  Ask God to help you put your life on the altar of dedication to Him and ask Him to empower you so you can worship Him.

This past week we heard from TV viewers from the states of Washington and North Carolina.  I am so grateful to God for our TV broadcast on DIRECT TV (each Sunday on channel 378 at 12:30 p.m. CST) that is literally reaching from coast to coast in our great country.  Thank you so much to all who continue to support DFEA and make this broadcast possible.

Have a great weekend.  Let me know if I can pray for you.

July 5, 2010 Update

We are blessed to be here in Austin, TX and to serve as the pastor of Great Hills Baptist Church.  My prayer is the same as Solomon’s in 1 Kings 3:6-9—that God would grant to me an understanding heart.  God blessed Solomon with three wonderful gifts and I am asking Him to grant these to me as I serve as pastor at GHBC.  Those blessings or gifts were wisdom, a largeness of heart (1 Kings 4:29), and favor with others.

God continues to bless DFEA and we are so grateful.  We are now broadcasting weekly on NRB from GHBC.  Each Tuesday I will be adding a new feature to our broadcast where I close with a personalized message to the viewer based on the sermon I preached on that broadcast.  Please pray for me as I tape these endings that God would use them to point people to Him, encourage, and bless others.

I am looking forward to preaching at Ridgecrest Baptist Church and being with my good friends Pastor Don and Scarlet Chasteen, wonderful servants of our Lord.  I am preaching at RBC on August 8-9 and if you are in the Raleigh/Durham NC, area come and worship with us.

I am getting excited about the upcoming mission trip to India with Pastor Finny Matthews in October.  Please pray for this mission trip.  I and the other pastors from the USA will have the opportunity to preach to 5,000 Indian pastors!

Let me know if I can pray for you.  You can e-mail me at dforshee@dfea.com.  Technology is a great tool to connect with people all over the world.  If I can pray for you let me know and I would be honored to do so.  Please keep praying for the Forshee Family as we adjust, learn our way around, get the children in schools, and sale our home in Arkansas.

May God continue to bless you as you serve Him.
