We are officially moving to Austin TX this weekend! We are in the midst of moving and it is intense for all who have moved know about which I speak! But the LORD has been so good to us and He has given me great opportunities to share Christ with people who are assisting in the move. I encourage you that whenever God brings someone to your home take the time to talk to them and share Christ with them.

Our first broadcast is aired this Sunday in the Austin, TX area on ABC through Great Hills Baptist Church, and we are excited. I am so grateful to God for all His blessings and give Him all the praise!

We are attending the SBC annual meeting in Orlando FL and having a nice time. It is so good to see people we have not seen well since last year at the SBC! It is great having my family with me.
This Sunday I will preach my first sermon as the pastor of Great Hills Baptist Church. We are looking forward to getting started. We will move next week so we have much going on for sure.

This is my last blog post as the pastor of FBC Lavaca. I write this with sadness as I will miss being the shepherd to such a wonderful group of peopel. I am grateful to God for you and all the ways He has guided and blessed us. I am very excited for you and all that God has in store for the future.
I want to say a special thanks to Josh Hurt for all his hard work and service to our Lord as the media director at FBCL. Josh, my family and I love you brother and thrilled at how you use your gifts and talents for the cause of Christ.
Today I will post my first new blog at www.dfea.com, my web site for DFEA. I thank Daniel Whisnant, president of Suissemade Design Studio, for all his help in getting me set up on the web site so I can post my blogs.
To Brother Tony Buchanan and the amazing staff at FBCL I love you men and women and praise God for you. You are such a wonderful group of servants and I will deeply miss you.
We are excited about starting our new ministry at Great Hills in Austin. We are honored to serve the church and help them reach Austin with the good news of Jesus Christ and equip them to be radiant followers of the King.
To all my friends with DFEA please keep praying for us as we serve the Lord. We are so blessed to be able to continue broadcasting on DIREC TV and I thank you all for your prayers and financial support for this ministry and broadcast.
The LORD reigns! Let us all be like Paul in Acts 28 and run the race with joy and diligence letting no obstacle hinder the gospel from flowing through us to touch others.

Yesterday I resigned as the senior pastor of FBC Lavaca, AR. We know without a doubt God led us to FBCL to serve for this time. I am grateful to God for the people He has allowed me to serve. Some of the greatest people on earth live in a little town outside Fort Smith. My family and I are sad to say good--bye as we leave behind some very dear people and friends. I will finish preaching through the Book of Acts on June 13, my last Sunday in the pulpit at FBL. What an enormous joy to see our people going and taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to their neighbors and to the nations, as the early church did in Acts. Bro Tony Buchanan, my close friend and executive pastor, will give leadership to the church while the pastor search team looks for a new lead pastor. Tony is an excellent pastor and preacher and I believe will lead FBL to her greatest days.
I have spent today praying, fasting, reading, and studying. Currently I am reading Francis Chan's book on the Holy Spirit, The Forgotten God, and it is a very good. God has been so gracious and kind to me. As we say good-bye to FBL we say hello to our new church home, Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, TX. Through much prayer and seeking the Lord through fasting and through many conversations with Ashley we feel total peace about serving the people at GH. Austin reminds me of Athens when Paul traveled to the intellectual city of Socrates in Acts 17 and preached Jesus Christ and His resurrection. This is my objective as well--to preach Jesus and His life, death, burial, resurrection and how through the power of the Spirit of God we can live with victory. I am as optimistic as the promises of God in Scripture. I do not go with any confidence in my abilities as I have none apart from the Spirit of God. I go to Austin very humble and dependent upon the LORD. I shared with the people at GH that I might die in the process but my aim is to help them reach this city with the gospel!
Great Hills has a very strong media ministry and I will preach on the local ABC channel as I have preached here in the River Valley in AR on the local ABC network. And by God's grace and provisions DFEA will continue to broadcast on DIREC TV on channel 378 at 12:30 p.m. central standard time. I have also been praying more over the last few weeks about the opportunity to preach on TBN. Will you pray with me about this opportunity? In Keith Ferrazzi's book, Never Eat Alone, he encourages his readers to write out their goals and not be afraid to allow to help them.
Like the Apostle Peter in Matthew 14, my family and I are stepping out of the boat and we ask for your prayers. Ashley is heading to Austin today to find us a place to live while I stay here and work and get things done. Please pray for us regarding the sale of our home and finding a place in TX. And please pray for Bro Terry and Debbie Hurt as they too step out of the boat and serve at GHBC. I am looking forward to seeing how God will use the Hurts at GH. Terry is very gifted and passionate about worship.
I love you dear folks at FBCL and all our friends with DFEA across the country. Please pray for the Forshees as we begin a new adventure at GHBC, and also please pray for God's continued favor upon DFEA.

Thank you so much to all who have reached out to us and prayed for us during this very hard time for our family. God has been so good to us and walked with us through the valley of the shadow of death, and we fear no evil for He is indeed with us. Please continue to pray for our family and especially David's three children seen below, Cole, Hattie, and Noah. The picture was taken at the funeral last night, May 18, 2010, even though the picture has a Jan 1 04 date.
