Spring's Grandest Announcement

I was blessed by the following article by a good friend of mine, Endel Lee. With his permission, I am sharing his article with you and hope it blesses you as it did me.

Martin Luther is noted for writing, "Our Lord has written the promise of Resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf of springtime." This springtime realization is evident along the Gulf Coast as we observe new leaves on old oak trees, azaleas blooming, fireflies becoming visible again in the night, and as we feel the north winds shift to warm southern breezes caressing our beaches and the coastal lands. The God of creation has blessed us with these tangible reminders of renewal as an indication of His ability to "make all things new" (Revelation 21:1-5).

As you take note of these beautiful reminders this spring, remember that the Divine Creator has also promised to give you new life, eternal life. The simple condition of receiving this promise is to call upon the name of the Lord and believe that "God gave His only begotten Son" (John 3:16) -- who was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on a cross for humanity's sin, and was resurrected on the third day, making a way for all those who believe to have new and everlasting life. The realization of this promise is certainly worth celebrating. The promise of the Resurrection transforms everything in life from winter's gray to spring's green!

Even those of us who have lived longer lives and are now enduring the challenges associated with older bodies gain fresh hope that one day we can have a new body, a resurrected body. I can hear with my spiritual ears many of you responding to that part of God's promise with an "Amen!"

Now, I realize that some are skeptical about God and His promises, but look at creation around you and see how God displays His eternal power, nature, and promises evident in all things made (Romans 1:16-32). Trying to suppress the truth about God by embracing ungodliness and becoming a God-hater is like trying to halt the bursting forth of spring by holding your breath.

So, I implore you to accept creation's invitation as one of God's creatures and join the celebration of our Lord's Resurrection. The results are everlasting -- new life, new body, a new heaven, and a new earth. No better investment exists in all the universe! May God bless you and your loved ones in this season of celebrating the Resurrection!
