It is very biblical and important to wait on the Lord, but there are also times when the Lord is waiting on us.

"See, I have set the land before you; go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—to give to them and their descendants after them."

(Deuteronomy 1:8)

Oftentimes when we talk of waiting in a spiritual sense, it includes us waiting on God. It is very biblical to wait on the Lord. It is not easy, but it is so important that the child of God waits on the Heavenly Father. Psalm 27:14 states, "Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

But there are also times when the Lord is waiting on us. By that I mean He has spoken and confirmed in our hearts what He intends for us to do, and now we just need to do it! I felt this years ago here at our church, Great Hills Baptist Church, where I have served as pastor the last 16 years. God placed some big things on my heart, and the Holy Spirit inspired us to attempt great things for God. We are excited to get going!

Change is always hard, but when God gives you the command to go and do something, then saddle up, for it is time to go and do it! The waiting and planning are over; now you simply have to move ahead with the promises of God in your mind and the zeal of the Holy Spirit in your heart.

Is there something God has put on your heart, and you have every reason to move forward except for your own inhibitions? I heard one pastor say in an interview that when he is 51% sure about a major decision to move forward, then he moves full steam ahead! I admire his faith. I am more of a 75% kind of guy, but hey, when God says move, let us move!

God told Moses to tell the children of Israel to get going. It was time to move into the Promised Land. No more delay; no more planning; no more what ifs; just move. I recently shared with our church family the following: These are the days of change. We are changing our address, name, website, and literally the way we do ministry as a local church. What will not change is our commitment and love for Jesus, His Word, and people.

May God grant you and me the courage and faith to step out and do what He has called us to do. Even today, let us move forward in Jesus' name.
