Seth Godin is a prolific author and deep thinker. I enjoyed listening to a podcast interview of him last week on the Carey Nieuwhof show. Godin is a marketing genius, author of 20 books, and sought-after speaker. Interestingly, he turned down an interview with the producers of Shark Tank because they told him they wanted him to be the mean shark. They promised if he did it that they would make him famous. He said it took him about 3 seconds to tell them no. Godin said they offered him two things he did not want: to be the bad guy and to be famous.
Godin believes in the power of pictures. He challenges speakers to use fewer words and more pictures in their presentations. He said not to use stock photos but ones that you take and are meaningful to you. So, I decided this week to do just that. I will post a few photos that I have taken that are meaningful to me, and I will not write as many words as I normally do. Godin says to leave room for the viewer to draw his or her own conclusions.
