What a Trip! (Pt. 5)

What a Trip! (Pt. 5)

Today's devotion includes a story from a woman in the formerly unreached people group our church helps minister to. She boldly confronted persecution with faith, and God protected her!

What a Trip! (Pt. 5)

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me.'"

(Isaiah 6:8)

For today's devotion, I will share more of what I wrote in my journal. I have made some alterations for clarity, and as I have all week, I will not include names and places for security purposes.

So good to see M! It's been 3 years since I've been here. God continues to bless and use him powerfully. He told us the story of a taxi driver who came to Christ by watching the lifestyle of a man from the USA. He asked, "What makes you different?" He shared Christ, and the taxi driver got saved.

Left the hotel at 10:00 a.m. Stopped for a good lunch. Napped on the road. Now about to stop at the hotel. We went to a local pastor's home; he married a lady from our (formerly) unreached people group that our church has been reaching for almost 10 years now. They sang, and it was so powerful. They live among Hindus and Muslims but boldly share Christ. Sweet family. They fed us dinner, I shared a message with them from Romans 15:13, and Tom prayed for them; it was a great night. The pastor said he's up each morning at 4:30 a.m. to pray, then goes into the villages and shares Jesus. Tomorrow we will go to their church. M. told me about a lady in their Church who gave the following testimony: The Hindu authorities came to her home and said they noticed that she did not have idols, and therefore, they would not give her the government daily rations for food. The lady prayed, "Lord Jesus help me to speak," and then she boldly confronted the government official in charge and told him, "That is OK if you do not give me my food rations. Let me ask you a question: Who feeds the birds? Who feeds the animals? My God takes care of them and will take care of me." The government official literally backed down from this bold Christian woman.

It's 9:00 p.m. and I'm reflecting on the day, a full day of travel. What a blessing.

We do have to be careful. M. told me about three men from Sweden who came into the country on a tourist visa. They were caught baptizing people, and now they are under house arrest here in the country.

I am not finished but will wrap up this week's devotions. Next week I will conclude my recollections from the mission trip we took to Asia.

How has the Lord spoken to you after reading about our trip? I hope you have been blessed but also challenged. God has blessed us greatly by allowing us to live in the USA. We take for granted the blessings of God. By going overseas and serving on short term mission trips, I come away so very appreciative to God for all His blessings. I am convinced that God allowed me to be born and live here so that I would be a blessing to the nations.

Have a blessed weekend. Thanks again for all your prayers and financial support for DFEA. Be on the lookout for Giving Tuesday on November 29th. Pray for us, and as God prompts you, give to our ministry at DFEA so we can continue to impact many with the Gospel of Jesus. Thank you!
