Going to Jerusalem

"His name is the LORD of Heaven's Armies, and this is what he says: 'I am as likely to reject my people Israel as I am to abolish the laws of nature!'"

Please pray for Ashley and me along with 1,000 other evangelical pastors and wives as we are currently in Israel to hear from their leaders, learn more about what is happening to the Jewish people all over the world, and help combat the rise of antisemitism, especially in Europe and America. I pray daily for the peace of Jerusalem. King David wrote in Psalm 122:6: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you." I know that Israel is not a Christian nation and is imperfect, like all nations, but the Holy Land is special, and we as followers of Jesus should seek ways to bless those who live there and share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ with them. Paul writes in Romans 10:1-4: "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

I have been to Israel on two other occasions, and it truly is a blessing to walk where Jesus literally walked. There will not be nearly as much sight-seeing on this trip, however. We will, as it was communicated to me, meet "with various government officials, hostage families, IDF soldiers, and Israeli citizens. The week will culminate with a certificate signed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, identifying attendees as official Ambassadors of Israel." I am looking forward to being in the Holy Land and seeing Netanyahu, Ambassador Mike Huckabee, and others. While in Jerusalem, we will visit and pray at the Wailing Wall, go to the southern steps of the Temple, and worship the Lord Jesus at the Garden Tomb.

Again, I ask that you please pray for us as we visit the Holy Land. Like followers of Jesus, Israel is persecuted, and she has many enemies who want to remove and eliminate the Jewish people from their land. Pray that God protects and shows us all He desires to show us on this important trip to the Holy Land.
