Some Very Cool & Good News!

"Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!
For He has done marvelous things;
His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory."

(Psalm 98:1)

At the end of July, we had our first gathering at our new church campus. We conducted a VBS and ended it with a Thursday night family night. It was exciting to see people on the new campus, even though it is currently being remolded for us to move into on October 4, 2026. We have much work to do, but I wanted to show you the following ten second video of our VBS campers performing one of their songs outdoors (click the image to play):

This move has been the most challenging thing I have ever attempted in ministry. Selling a church campus and relocating is not an easy task. But it is one that God has given to our staff, leaders, and me at our current church called Great Hills Baptist Church, soon to be called Waypoint Church. The planning began years ago, and the last couple years have been very intense as we entered the world of real estate and purchasing property in Austin, TX. But God has been so very good to us, and He continues to bless and inspire us to attempt great things for Him while expecting great things from Him (to borrow a phrase from the missionary William Carey).

After we get part of the property built out at Waypoint Church Riata, we will turn our focus to our second campus that gathers in Liberty Hill, TX. The plan is to move to 22 acres off Ronald Reagan Highway and build Waypoint Church Santa Rita. After this, we will look to plant another campus in another city in the Greater Austin Area. (But I will leave that to my successor to accomplish!)

Proverbs 13:12 says, "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life." I say a hearty amen to that verse! That is precisely what we have been living out the last five years. We have a vision, and it is coming to fruition. It has been very challenging, as the devil has fought us and continues to fight us every inch of the way. But the dream is becoming a reality, and we give God the praise and glory, because only He could do this. "This was the LORD'S doing; It is marvelous in our eyes" (Psalm 118:23).

Let me encourage you to go and do the same thing. No, not necessarily sell a church campus and build a new one, but attempt something so big that failure is guaranteed unless the Lord does it.
