"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
(Hebrews 13:8; CSB)
I hope and pray that you have been encouraged and challenged in your relationship with Jesus this week by proclaiming the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness and into his marvelous light. There is something powerful and assuring when proclaiming the truths of God over situations in your life and over your day in general.
The final proclamation for all of us this week is Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
Read that passage again.
If you read it the first time with a glance or a skim because you have heard it before, read it again slowly. Now, say it out loud and ponder it.
Think about the truth that in an ever-changing world, in an ever-changing culture, in an ever-changing you, through sanctification, Jesus Christ is the same.
No matter what you have been through, what you are going through now, and what you will go through in the future, Jesus Christ is the same. What do we know about Jesus?
- We know from Monday that He calls us out from darkness into His marvelous light.
- We know from Tuesday that His faithful love endures forever.
- We know from Wednesday that even though we are wretched, God loves us and saved us.
- We know from Thursday that we are children of God, and because of that we are blessed.
- We know from today that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
End this week of devotions with a proclamation of Hebrews 13:8, and praise God for who He is to you!
