God Spoke, and It Was Done

God Spoke, and It Was Done

Yes, there was a big bang: God created; He spoke
everything into existence, and it was quite the bang!

God Spoke, and It Was Done

"For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded and it stood fast."

(Psalm 33:9)

Evolutionists argue that in the beginning there was a big bang that started everything. Stephen Hawking told an elite group of dignitaries at Cambridge University, where he taught for 30 years, "3 billion years ago, DNA appeared." Yes, there was a big bang, but not like Hawking had in mind: God created; He spoke everything into existence, and it was quite the bang!

Charles Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species in 1859, and on p. 280, he referred to his ideas not as fact but as theory and even pointed out the great weaknesses of his theory when he stated, "Why then is not every geological formation and every stratum full of such intermediary links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely graduated organic chain, and this, perhaps, is the most obvious and gravest objection which can be urged against my theory." One of the leading evolutionists in America, Stephen Jay Gould, (who taught at Harvard University and died at age 60 in 2002), concurs with Darwin's statement when he writes, "The extreme rarity of transitional forms in the fossil record persists as the trade secret of paleontology." (See this website for other quotes from Gould admitting lack of evidence in the fossil record.)

There are meaningful implications to the creation/evolution debate. Christian aerospace engineer William Curtis said, "If Noah isn't true, and Adam and Eve aren't true, then Christ is a liar." Philip Johnson was a strong advocate of theism and thoroughly refutes evolution in his book, Darwin on Trial. Johnson was educated at Harvard University and the University of Chicago and taught law at University of California, Berkeley for 20 years. Johnson debated William Provine of Cornell University at Stanford University. Provine said that there is "no life after death; no ultimate foundation for ethics; no ultimate meaning for life; no free will." A young man in the audience challenged Provine's logic with two egregious crimes against humanity: murder and rape. He said, "I once thought that was okay, because who cared about life? But life does matter, and there are absolutes." Nancy Pearcey commented, "The man's words were a stunning reminder that the origins debate is not merely academic; it involves the most fundamental principles by which people live and die." ("The Evolution Backlash: Debunking Darwin". World. March 1, 1997)

As Psalm 33:9 asserts, God spoke, and the universe was created. It reminds me of Psalm 139:14 where the psalmist states that he was "fearfully and wonderfully made," made by God, not evolved over eons of time.
