"But Jesus looked at them and said to them, 'With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'"
(Matthew 19:26)
Affirming the truth of who God is empowers our faith and gives us the impetus to persevere when we do not know what is happening or what our next steps are. God can be trusted, and He must be trusted by His people if we are to see Him move in power in our lives or change our circumstances. Hebrews 11:6 is both a powerful and convicting verse for me: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
How remarkable it is that God desires to do the seemingly impossible in each of our lives, and His church is scattered all over the globe. By the power of His Spirit, He can and will do the miraculous! God has more in store for those who trust Him and attempt great things for Him. It does not matter what the devil says or what others say who are inspired by him. Do you know anyone like that, one who has the unspiritual gift of discouragement?
William Carey, the pioneer missionary in the 18th century, was ridiculed and scolded for his big bold vision to go to India and engage in international missions. "The often-quoted version of the story is that during a meeting of Baptist ministers in 1786, when Carey suggested that Christians had a duty to spread the Gospel overseas, a senior minister—possibly John Ryland Sr.—is said to have rebuked him by saying: 'Young man, sit down. When God pleases to convert the heathen, He will do it without your aid or mine.'" (Source.)
Has God given you a promise, a vision for a better tomorrow? Then proceed in faith and do not waver in doubt and unbelief. Now, even as I type these words, I am only sharing with you my own inner dialogue! I know God has a big assignment for me, and I am pursuing it, and hell seeks to derail me. At times, it seems impossible, but then I am reminded, not so with God! He is the God of the impossible. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. He moves and acts on behalf of His children when we trust in Him.
Will you trust God today to accomplish what He desires to do in and through you?
