"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."
(1 John 1:7)
Recently, while working out in our local community gym, I was so moved by the lyrics of a song that I literally cried and bent my knees in worship to Jesus. I do not know if anyone saw me or not; it did not matter. I was overcome with emotion and the only right and proper response in that moment was to worship.
The song was Tommee Proffit's powerful song, "Nothing But the Blood." You can listen to the song here.
At the bridge when the key changes and Proffitt belts out the next note, it still brings me to tears. I am so grateful to God for Jesus, His life, and His love for me and the whole world. Here are some of the lyrics:
O precious is the flow
That washes white as snow
No other fount I know
Only the blood of Jesus
And, O through Him I'll overcome
By this I'll reach my home
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Lamb of God
Who hung upon the tree
His blood has set us free
Righteous one
The shelter for the poor
Heaven's open door
We sing
Glory glory
Hallelujah
This blood
It will never lose its pow'r
No, it will never lose its pow'r
Praise God for the blood of Jesus. Have you been washed by the blood of Jesus where all your sins are forgiven? If not, call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to save you (Romans 10:13), and He will save you (Romans 10:9).
