"For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God."
(John 3:20-21)
God did not create us so we could flounder and figure out life the best we can on our own. No, I believe He has a special, tailored will for your life that is unlike any other. Check out these lyrics from the song "Made for More" by Josh Baldwin:
I know who I am 'cause I know who You are
The cross of salvation was only the start
Now I am chosen, free and forgiven
I have a future and it's worth the living
Cause I wasn't made to be tending a grave
I was called by name
Born and raised back to life again
I was made for more
So why would I make a bed in my shame
When a fountain of grace is running my way
I know I am Yours
And I was made for more.
God invites you to know Him and live for Him. Scripture says in 2 Peter 3:9 that God is "not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
God created us; He loves us and desires to enter into covenant with us to be our God. He will not force us into relationship with Him, but He invites us to know Him through His Son Jesus Christ who lived on the earth, died on the cross, arose from the dead, and ascended back to heaven. In John 3:16, we read of God's everlasting love for us, and in verse 17, Jesus said He did not come to condemn the world but to save it. In verse 20, Jesus said our evil deeds keep us from the light.
I think man's greatest hindrance to belief and to serving God is not mental, but volitional. Dr. William Provine stated on C-SPAN that it "was great not having to answer to some deity." (I heard him say this on TV to the American Atheist Association.)
I invite you to place your faith in God. Believe that He is real and that He did create this world, including you, and that He desires to have a relationship with you. You may ask, "But will God keep His promises and establish a relationship with me in light of all I have said about Him and done against Him?" Yes! He is the God of grace and the God who keeps His promises.
