I experienced the greatest miracle of my life on May 25, 2014!
I can tell you where I was: Great Hills Baptist Church.
I can tell you who was there: Mark Hall.
I can tell you my life has never been the same!
The miracle that I experienced on that day and with Mark Hall was the miracle of salvation. That day, I placed my faith and trust in Jesus to save me, and it was the day my life changed forever.
For me, that day was the pinnacle of a long journey of doubt and insecurity. Growing up in the Forshee home, I was always surrounded by godliness, Bible stories, and family members who lived out a faith that was authentic and captivating! I, however, always thought salvation was something to be earned and not a gift to be accepted. It took an unfortunate tennis practice for me to realize that I was constantly trying to earn God's gift of salvation rather than accept it. After that practice, I really took a deep dive into what it means to be a follower of Jesus, and after every thought, I would recognize something about everything that I believed: it always began with me, my, or I. I quickly realized that my "salvation" was really all my "efforts" that I was exerting to try to earn salvation from God.
This brings us to May 25, 2014. It was a Sunday morning, and I was at Great Hills Baptist Church. My dad preached a sermon, and honestly, I don't remember it too much, but I remember the invitation and God clearly calling me to Himself. I needed to humble myself, accept the gift of salvation, and begin a relationship with God—and that is what I did! I walked down the aisle, met Mark Hall, and he was there when I gave my life to Christ!
I am so thankful for the miracle of salvation and the miracle of a testimony! What is your testimony? What is your miracle story of God taking you from dead in your sins and separated from Him to alive in Christ Jesus and belonging to Him?
Here is my challenge for you today: tell someone about the greatest miracle that has happened to you: your testimony! Tell a co-worker, a friend, a family member, your children—I don't know who you need to tell it to, but pray that God would reveal it to you, and go tell others about the greatest miracle of your life!
