The Favor of God

The Favor of God

I will write today about our middle child, Bryant. Many of you know Bryant through his writing of devotions here once a month.

The Favor of God

"Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man."

(Proverbs 3:3-4)

Ashley and I will have been married for 40 years on August 2, 2026. I am so grateful to God for all of His wonderful blessings in my life. I am most grateful for Jesus. I am also very thankful for my family. We have 3 kids (all in their 30s), and 9 grandchildren. What a blessing!

I will write today about our middle child, Bryant. Many of you know Bryant through his writing of devotions here once a month. He is married to Kyndall, and they have two sons, Tabor and Miller. Here is a picture of Bryant and his sweet family:
Bryant serves as the Student Pastor of Cross Church in Springdale, Arkansas. We are all so proud of B (that is what his family calls him). He has what I would call the favor of God upon his life and ministry. He loves and leads his family well. He serves the students by showing them what a godly man, husband, and father looks like.

Recently, I have received photos of Bryant while he was preaching. The first one was from my friend, Daniel Crittendon, also known as Critter. In this next photo below, B is preaching in the worship center at Cross Church, because they have outgrown their very large student building. God has blessed them with 400 students who attend on Wednesday nights.
The next picture is from Shane Pruitt. Do you know Shane? If not, take a minute to Google him and follow him on social media. He too has the favor of God on his life. This photo was taken in Florida where B is speaking to a group of student pastors who lead very large student ministries in our nation:
I could also write about the favor of God upon my son, Leighton, and son in law, Jeffrey. Both of these men in their 30s are serving Jesus well in the local church and leading their families in godly ways. If I could offer one word of advice to Bryant, Leighton, and Jeffrey, it would be this: stay humble! God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
